How to login to the ASHA Community
The login for the ASHA community is the same email address and password that you use to sign into the ASHA website. Once logged-in to the ASHA Community, you can explore the public communities available for you to join.
Who can join the ASHA Community?
The ASHA Community is restricted to ASHA and NSSLHA members, as well as International Affiliates and ASHA Associates.
How to change email notification settings?
Manage your email notifications for the communities to which you belong from your profile's Email Notifications page. Email notification options include real-time, daily digest, or you may unsubscribe.
Is there an option to subscribe to a weekly digest?
Not at this time. We double-checked with our vendor and they do not have plans for adding a weekly digest (even though we aren’t the only client that has asked about it). The logic behind their decision is that they want to avoid a scenario where discussion posts receive replies a week after they have been posted and to maintain active and timely discussions.
How do I change my signature?
Change or update the signature that appears at the bottom of your posts and replies on the My Signature page
How do I change my name or contact information?
To update your email address, mailing address, or phone number, go to My Account on the ASHA website. If you need to update your name, please contact the ASHA Action Center at 800-498-2071 (8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. EST, Monday–Friday).
How do I change my Areas or Expertise, Primary Employment Facility, Primary Employment Function, and Private Practice information?
You may update this information by going to your profile in the ASHA Community.
Why can't I see member email addresses in the directory?
The ASHA Community allows members to contact each other directly on the platform. As such, ASHA has opted members out of displaying their email addresses by default. Members may change this setting and include their email addresses if they wish.
Email addresses are not available for sale. ASHA provides faculty and NSSLHA students with a variety of options for gathering member data for research purposes. However, you may not include any information to the effect that your research project is under the sponsorship of ASHA. ASHA also provides options for companies to promote their products and services to our members.
How can I use email to participate in discussion threads in the ASHA Community?
Participation in the ASHA Community is restricted to ASHA and NSSLHA members, as well as International Affiliates and ASHA Associates. There are several ways to engage in discussion threads via email:
- Select Post New Message at the top of the email to post a new message in the Community's Discussion tab. This will create a new Discussion Thread in the Community
- Select Reply to Group to reply to all members of the Community. This will create a response to the Discussion Thread in the Community
- Select Reply to Sender to reply to just the poster of that message. This will send a response to the member's "inbox" (it will not appear to all members of the Community)
How do I attain badges and ribbons?
Badges are earned through a variety of activities including posting to a discussion, adding files to libraries, joining communities, adding contacts, etc. The more you engage in these activities, the more points you earn.
